"Micro-chip illegal aliens" at candidate forum

“I think we should catch ’em, we should document ’em, make sure we know where they are and where they are going,” said Pat Bertroche, an Urbandale physician. “I actually support micro-chipping them. I can micro-chip my dog so I can find it. Why can’t I micro-chip an illegal?

“That’s not a popular thing to say, but it’s a lot cheaper than building a fence they can tunnel under,” Bertroche said.

Iowa Candidate Supports Using Chips to Track Illegal Immigrants
Next up, this moron will need the means to track them, too. Skynet, anyone? After that and he'll want everyone chipped and tracked. Everyone.

He wants this for the children/national security/the fatherland... whatever the crap du jour that's on this guy's plate.

You know why you can't chip an illegal, because these are people you moron, not a possession. You tag possessions, you track your property but with people, stay the hell away from that idea.

It has always amazed me how many people think that the microchip is some sort of location tracking device. Chipping his dog will in no way find it for him, as he claims. No more so than chipping illegals would track their whereabouts.

What a maroon.

Like you said, next he'll be wanting a way to track them because he would discover that the chip is nothing more than a serial number that can be read by a machine. What are we going to do- put a reader in every doorway and traffic intersection and collect all the data?

It's a similar idea to having cameras on every corner. Next would be rfid readers at every intersection as well.

That's not a huge leap.
