An amendment offered by Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, would explicitly ban health-insurance companies from denying or charging more for coverage because somebody legally owns a gun or ammunition. Is Grassley growing a pair?
Further, Grassley’s amendment would bar the government from using the health care bill to collect information about gun ownership.
The amendment has at least 10 co-sponsors, including Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont.
“In Montana, how many guns you own and where you keep them is nobody’s business --least of all the government’s or some health-insurance company,” Tester said in announcing his support of the amendment.

Is Grassley growing a pair?
ReplyDeleteNot likely, just checking the direction of the political winds and doing what all weak reeds do, bending to it.
It's hard for me to type sarcasm, SA. I can't imagine Chuck would actually stand up for something.
ReplyDeleteIf Chuck won't stand up for something it's just because someone isn't holding the bribe high enough.
ReplyDeleteHe and his ilk could teach Woody Harrelson that white men CAN jump if the payoff is big enough.
Hell, look at Tom Harkin, he even managed to grow a beard when he thought it would help his gravy train arrive one election year. Quite an accomplishment for a pu--, uh, woman.
It's kind of hard to jump too high wearing a skirt.
ReplyDeleteWhen Chuck was going after waste and fraud at the Pentagon, I respected him. But now he's no better than Harkin - a political hack who's there to line further their career and help their friends. (look up the Iowa Project and who Chuck helped in that deal)
