Between the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers. Between the Iowa and Cedar. Between the Des Moines and Skunk. I've lived or worked by them all. (Except the Missouri - that one doesn't count.) And fought floods against two of them more than once.

Obama seems to be missing something
Obama: We are endowed with certain unalienable rights but not from our Creator. Or something like that.

In your face, America

Giving a proverbial middle finger to his political opponents, Obama's White House Christmas ball served cookies in the shape of an acorn. Iowa Rep. Steve King was a bit surprised and saved a few.
"I didn't expect to see such stark symbolism," King said in an e-mail.
"Bill Clinton redefined a two and a three-letter word," King said, a reference to Clinton's denial of the Lewinsky scandal . "But from the man who wrote 'The Audacity of Hope,' we were served the very redefinition of the word 'audacity.'"
The hubris of this administration is wearing thin on many Americans.

Truth in advertising?
Or, Free Speech - Deal with it.

MASON CITY — A billboard on the 600 block of South Federal Avenue berates the Obama administration in a manner that has offended some who have seen it.But not everyone is happy. Someone got their panties in a bind:
Mark Tlusty, who helped organize the “Tea Party” anti-tax protest in Central Park in April, said, “We’re just getting upset at how the government is running things. We wanted to express ourselves and chose this way to do it.”
Kathleen Wild of Mason City contacted the Globe Gazette to express her concerns after seeing the billboard.Last time I checked we live in a nation of Free Speech. (At least it's supposed to be.) I'm guessing Kathleen's version of Mason City has no diversity of thought. Irony, anyone?
“I think it’s a terrible thing to have above Mason City, which is a city of diversity,” she said.

Call to march on Washington
Our Senator Chuck Grassley gets a mention Ranting: Irrational accusations
This editorial quoting a New Yorker article about how the Republican party is full of right-wing, conspiratorial, whacked-out, tea-party protesters who is led by Glenn Beck and Rush because
Oh and don't forget, we're the bitter-clingers in America.
At a town hall assembly led by Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, an angry participant urged "patriots" to grab their guns and head to Washington.I missed that rally. I never realized the monotone, nasal flatulence coming from Chuck would inspire such passion.
This editorial quoting a New Yorker article about how the Republican party is full of right-wing, conspiratorial, whacked-out, tea-party protesters who is led by Glenn Beck and Rush because
"The party simply didn't have any other engine. ...The Republican Party is married to these people because Republican identification is now so low."Really? The party that gave us Bush who couldn't reign in his own spending, forced more governmental control of public schools, expanded Medicare/Medicaid beyond the original scope, supposedly is being controlled by radical fringe previously described? That Republican party?
President Obama is somewhat like historic Democratic President Franklin Roosevelt...I thought Obama likened himself as a modern-day Lincoln.
Oh and don't forget, we're the bitter-clingers in America.
Despite his attackers, Roosevelt transformed America, bringing Social Security and other people-helping programs that improved life for future generations. We hope Obama likewise overcomes his bitter accusers and gives America universal health care and other major advances. And he will produce sunshine, lollipops, rainbows, and chocolate rivers forever and ever.

How many czars do we need, anyway?
Tangalor at Nonsensical Multisyllabic Words provides a list of csars (or tzars) that we currently have in the Obama regime. Czars by definition provides a list of 31 little fiefdoms created by this and previous administrations.

"I Pledge..." - I puke
Spike from Burlington Derailed reports that children from Farmington, Utah were shown the video of the blathering idiots and their "I Pledge" allegiance to Barack Obama.
The video has been out for a while but with Obama's address to school children scheduled for next week (as reported by Mike Vanderboegh over at Sipsey Street Irregulars), it doesn't make it any less disgusting.
I could make an analogy has to how disgusting, but I promised the wife this would be a PG-13 blog.
