Between the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers. Between the Iowa and Cedar. Between the Des Moines and Skunk. I've lived or worked by them all. (Except the Missouri - that one doesn't count.) And fought floods against two of them more than once.

Heard at the gun show
"These sheriffs need to understand that they swore an oath to the Constitution." - uniformed county deputy.

Was that in response to the Arizona sheriff who said citizens should not be allowed to carry?
Many sheriffs in Iowa had their noses bent out of shape regarding the new permit law that went into effect Jan 1. They were able to deny permits on a whim and many did just that. The result was many counties had permits to a select few.
Now, it's a little harder to deny the permit.
Next up is getting rid of the whole asking our betters for permission.
